cfmqm Steve Good mentions this music was his attempt to grasp the meaning of The Heart Sutra, and after listening to it I can say that he certainly seems to have succeeded in doing so.

"Form is emptiness, and emptiness is form..."

Thank you for your work.

Berkdrums I was thinking about how to write a review for this album, to describe it the right way... how it comforts me, soothes me, how it gives me this indescribable feeling of feeling ‘at home’ inside myself.. but then I just stopped thinking about it and just wrote it the way how I feel this album means to me. It suddenly appeared on my radar, and I’m so grateful, because if that was still in 201& (while it’s may 2019 in the meantime), for me this definitely would’ve been the album of the year... Why? Because Steve created an album that I think is spot on in terms of what ambient and music in general has to bring across for me: passion, a feel in which you can lose yourself, emotion that just grabs your heart and a feeling of connection with what you hear.. I know it’s all so very personal but I do think Steve made a masterpiece that contains music without any pretentions.. no fancy effects, digital clicks, no tape-loops that run just a slide behind, no wall of sounds out of a computer, and this can all be amazing too, but it’s the point of getting to the core of music, of what you try to bring across.. these musical paintings here are so heavenly beautiful. The artwork speaks volumes.. this is how I love to spend my off-days and holidays, on my own, biking and hiking through the woods and looking up, to the tree-tops and gazing at the clouds while laying in the grass.. the smell of the warm summerbreeze, pine-needles and pine cones.. this album on my in-ears, can’t get much better.. these floating pieces here with simple but lovely, nostalgic melodies that enter my soul and stay there long after the album is finished.. Almost forget to mention that the digipack is just stunningly beautiful and more than worth it to spend a few bucks more on, instead of the digital version only.. I can only hope there is (much) more to come from Steve, hopefully as cd-releases as well! Thanks so much Steve, this album is a treasure I will play over and over and over again...!

about

A new place / a new view / new feelings / new colours.

It's about looking up, and looking inside, and the sense that they are the same thing, each inside the other.

A lot of this music reflects my attempts to grasp the meaning of The Heart Sutra. The delicate balance of understanding emptiness, without falling into nothingness. It often feels just within reach, then slips through my fingers like sand.

I'd highly recommend reading some interpretations of this beautiful text if you have the time, but it's not essential to enjoy these sounds, which are also simply reflections of the people, places and things I love.

I hope you like it.
